<strong>Role: </strong><strong>Global Editorial Director of eCommerce</strong><br><br> <strong>Location: Hybrid – ideally based either in UK or Germany </strong><br><br>Futureheads are working with an iconic media company, who are currently looking for a Global Editorial Director of eCommerce.<br><br>  <br><br> The group is one of the largest privately owned media businesses in Europe. In the UK alone, they reach more than 25 million consumers with their outstanding portfolio of much-loved entrainment brands that people engage with daily. The company is committed to creating world class solutions.<br><br>  <br><br> As the Global Editorial Director of eCommerce, you will lead the commerce content strategy across the UK, Germany, US and other markets. You will work with local digital leaders in content and business to direct and develop a highly engaged and talented team of writers.  You will be responsible for defining best practice and, with local managers and teams, for implementing our commerce content strategy to a world class level. <br><br>  <br><br> This organisation is currently undergoing a transformation from a collection of independent national companies to an organisation that will use its global scale to leverage efficiencies and new business models, by becoming a more connected, joined up organisation based around business verticals. The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in this transformation, becoming a true business leader, and bringing joined up editorial best practices to teams across territories, facilitating collaboration and building a connected future.   You will be a natural influencer – able to inspire and lead content teams working in differing teams, territories and markets.<br><br> <br><strong>Key responsibility include:</strong><br><br><ul><li>Responsible for the creation and implementation of affiliate content strategy across Germany, the UK and the US.</li><li>Accountable for the creation of new best practices, across content planning, research, creation and SEO (alongside new role Global Director SEO and dedicated experts).</li></ul><ul><li>Contribute set and deliver on global revenue targets for the Commerce Content division.</li></ul><ul><li>Be a thought leader in this space, advising teams on updates, changes, and defining this new centre of excellence.</li><li>Put in place a new system of checks and balances, to help the organisation manage commerce content creation and maintenance across the whole portfolio.</li><li>Work with local managers to level-up the existing team of writers and editors, helping mentor and build a team of market leading product experts.</li><li>Work with our Technology teams to create new buying templates that are scalable across sites and markets, and that deliver the best user experience for our readers.</li><li>Work with our Data and BI teams to create new reporting that helps editors understand and improve the performance of their content and enable dedicated planning organisation. </li></ul><strong> </strong><br><br> <strong>What you’ll need to be successful in this position:</strong><br><br><ul><li>Extensive experience in leading and defining commerce content strategy in publishing. Ideally this will be across a range of verticals, categories and sites.</li><li>Experience building content playbooks and embedding these within multiple editorial teams.</li><li>Experience delivering content commerce best practice training to teams – and enabling execution through organisational set-ups.</li><li>Strong SEO skills, with an up to date grasp of latest trends, algorithm changes, in particular around the Product Reviews updates</li><li>Strong data understanding -  what content works for commerce, and the  process and formats that drive success</li><li>Experience working across the UK, US and/or German media markets.</li><li>Solid commercial understanding, and experience working with Affiliate sales teams.</li><li>Demonstrable ability to balance strategic and tactical approaches to content strategy, creating both short term wins and building for long term success.</li><li>Experience launching new brands and/or verticals, as well as launching existing brands into new territories.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and a proven ability to develop, maintain and enhance relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Sophisticated negotiation, influencing, and facilitation skills required to get things done, convince or persuade others who may be more senior or not under direct managerial control.</li><li>Ability to travel occasionally throughout Europe, and potentially further afield.</li></ul> <br><br> <strong>For further information or if you would like to apply, please contact: Oliver@wearefutureheads.co.uk<br><br><em>“Here at Futureheads, we encourage applicants from all backgrounds, so if there is anything we can do to make our recruitment processes better for you and to allow you to show your best self, let us know.
